About the craft: Jaipur blue pottery is a GI tagged craft of Jaipur, Rajasthan, and one of the few pottery traditions in the world made without clay. The body is shaped by hand from quartz powder, powdered glass, multani mitti (fuller's earth), borax and natural gum, then painted by hand with metal oxide colours (cobalt for blue, copper for green) and glazed and fired at a low temperature. That gives the glassy shine the craft is known for.

Each piece is shaped and painted by hand, so small differences in shade, brush detail and size from the photos are natural and make every piece one of a kind.

Care: wipe with a soft damp cloth. Not for microwave, oven or dishwasher. Handle with care, as it is a fragile handmade piece.
